Pokémon Go & Trading

Have you ever had a friend, co-worker or family member say… “You should really buy this stock.” At some point & time we have most likely all been there it is just how the cycle works. They are so passionate about it and become a used car salesman for a brief period of time telling you about the glory of ‘XYZ’ stock.

This style of chase trading much like Pokémon Go is most common in the marketplace with a ‘herd mentality’. Which in the long run we all know what happens with fads…(slap bracelets, beanie babies and who can forget the Furby).

So with the social examination out of the way let’s take a look at the diversity of products that Nadex allows one to trade. As to not contradict myself from above these are some of the most commonly known products in the world such as Gold, Crude, & Forex.

If you take a look at the screenshot to the left we have a very clean and easy to read list of available underlyings. Depending on the market movement Indices may be moving or with major economic announcements it could be Gold or Silver. Having a preset list to trade can also greatly reduce the amount of stress one puts on themselves to find that ‘Pikachu’.

I want to preface this ability to trade limited risk products based on multiple underlying markets is strictly optional and getting married to one if it suits your style isn’t a bad thing. Every individual trader is the captain of their own boat so charter the waters you are most comfortable with and with your risk and profit clearly defined makes navigating much easier.

Futures, options and swaps trading involve risk and may not be appropriate for all investors. Past performance is not necessarily indicative of future results
